a couple very good friends of mine—jeff thrope of cold splinters and kalen (½ of upstate, and taker of that gorgeous photo above)—are spending some time in marfa and west wexas right now. ive been living vicariously through the posts that jeff has been putting up on cold splinters as of late. i highly suggest you do the same. dont sleep on the ultra-crucial post about fluff.
gavin refreshed his site, and as expected, it is loads of fun to flip through. lots of great updates—i am a particular fan of his editorial illustration work.

he has a great understanding of the use of light, a sensibility to subject matter that he cannot help but to take personal, and is a total road dog (as you can see from his travel essays on his site). check out his well presented body of work here.
